This Privacy Policy explains how Mapped Out ("Mapped Out", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our social media management platform and related services (the "Service"), hosted at social.mappedout.co. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.

1. Who we are

Mapped Out is a social media management agency that helps businesses schedule, publish, and analyze content across social media platforms. For any privacy questions, contact us at hello@mappedout.co.

2. Information we collect

Account information — name, email address, password (stored hashed), and workspace/team details you provide when registering.
Social media account data — when you connect a social media account (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Pinterest, Threads), we receive access tokens and basic profile information (such as account name, ID, and avatar) through that platform's official API, with your authorization.
Content you create — posts, captions, images, videos, schedules, and analytics you produce or upload to publish through the Service.
Usage and technical data — log data, IP address, browser type, and timestamps used to operate and secure the Service.

3. How we use information

To provide the Service: scheduling, publishing, and managing content on connected social accounts on your behalf.
To display analytics and insights about your content and connected accounts.
To authenticate users, maintain security, and prevent abuse.
To communicate with you about your account, support requests, and service updates.

4. Social platform data and permissions

When you connect a social account, we only request the permissions needed to schedule and publish content and to read basic profile and analytics data. We use this access strictly to operate the Service for you. We do not sell platform data, and we do not use it for advertising. Our use of information received from Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Google/YouTube, and other platforms complies with each platform's developer terms and policies, including the Meta Platform Terms and the TikTok Developer Terms.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

With the social media platforms you connect, as required to publish and manage your content.
With service providers (e.g. hosting and infrastructure) that process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.
Within your own workspace — content and connected accounts are visible to members and clients you invite.
When required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

6. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete content, disconnect social accounts, or request deletion of your account at any time (see Section 8).

7. Security

We protect data in transit using HTTPS/TLS, store credentials and access tokens securely, and restrict access to authorized personnel. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to safeguard your information.

8. Your rights & data deletion

You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To disconnect a social account, remove it from within the Service at any time, which revokes the stored access token. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email hello@mappedout.co with the subject "Data Deletion Request", or follow the instructions at legal.mappedout.co/data-deletion. We will process verified requests within 30 days.

9. International users

Your data may be processed in the country where our infrastructure is hosted. By using the Service, you consent to such processing.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
